Standing and Visiting Positions
Openings are available in the School of Accountancy within the Standing Faculty ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. Faculties interested in visiting appointments are encouraged to lodge their curriculum vitae.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Appointments will be made in these areas of accountancy: financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, and accounting information systems. All streams of accounting research may be accommodated. Candidates with a PhD and experience in the United States professional and higher education sectors are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Singapore's regulatory environment and/or a CPA is an advantage. The successful candidate should have an established record of high quality research and teaching; or be able to demonstrate excellent potential to do so.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL AND SMU:
SMU was incorporated in January 2000 and officially inaugurated in July 2000. SMU is the first privately run university in Singapore with government funding. SMU participates with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in a number of collaboration agreements. One of the most notable collaborations is the Wharton-SMU Research Center.
The School of Accountancy commenced with its first intake of undergraduate students in August 2001. It currently has 29 full-time faculty from universities, such as University of California at Berkeley, University of Chicago, Duke University, Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Texas at Austin , and Washington University at St Louis. The School aims to further strengthen its talent pool by recruiting top class faculty from around the world.

RENUMERATION AND BENEFITS:
SMU offers internationally competitive remuneration, and assistance to international faculty to help them take up their appointments in Singapore. Details of remuneration and compensation are provided to candidates during the recruitment process, however the following may provide a guide.
