Message from the Dean

Greetings from the School of Accountancy at SMU!

Since the launch of the SMU Master of Professional Accounting (MPA) programme in 2006, it has attracted an increasing interest from the public. The MPA programme provides an opportunity for graduates who do not have a degree major in accounting to achieve a professional accounting qualification. If you are looking for opportunities for career advancement, there is no skill-set more valuable than an accounting qualification. In today’s complex business environment, more than ever, knowledge of accounting is essential for anyone who aspires to move up the corporate ladder.

The programme is accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS), the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Upon completion of the programme, MPA graduates will be able to seek admission to these professional bodies.

The MPA by SMU offers you the convenience of a graduate programme in our state-of-the-art campus in the heart of the city. You will be taught by highly qualified SMU faculty as well as industry professionals, bringing a unique combination of academic rigour and first-hand industry knowledge. Join us and experience a rewarding and intellectually stimulating learning environment.

Yours truly,

Professor Pang Yang Hoong
