This year, the Singapore Management University Alumni Association (SMUAA) introduced the SMU Alumni Groups and Overseas Chapters within its structure, which will enable members to build professional and social networks and strengthen ties among alumni through their activities. Alumni Groups and Overseas Chapters will also serve to strengthen communication and co-operation between alumni, SMUAA and the University.
SMUAA will support Alumni Groups and Overseas Chapters through the Office of Alumni Relations and new groups or chapters may apply to the SMUAA for a one-time limited seed-funding to defray initial set-up costs. In addition, a percentage of the membership fee will be channelled to the group for every new group member who signs up as a member with the SMUAA.
